In this spirit, Bhutan is now shaping the future through visionary initiatives like the Gelephu Mindfulness City (GMC) — a bold undertaking to design a sustainable, smart city grounded in Bhutanese values and wisdom. GMC envisions becoming a global hub for wellness, innovation, and spiritual renewal, furthering Bhutan’s mission to offer meaningful progress in a fast-changing world. Here, development doesn’t mean more — it means better, deeper, and wiser.

Founders Retreat by Impact Hub Thimphu

This retreat is an initiative of Impact Hub Thimphu — a space for bold ideas, driven people, and meaningful change. In 2025, we hosted our first-ever Founders Retreat, welcoming visionaries from around the world to connect with Bhutanese entrepreneurs and experience the country’s unique rhythm of life. It’s more than a break — it’s a reset. Through Founders Retreat, we invite global founders to step away from the noise and immerse themselves in the Bhutanese way of life, side by side with local changemakers. It’s a chance to slow down, connect deeply, and reimagine what success truly means — all set against the serene backdrop of Bhutan’s mountains, monasteries, and mindful culture. As part of Bhutan’s commitment to a regenerative economy, each retreat participant contributes to the land — by planting a tree, you leave behind a living memory and become part of Bhutan’s future. It’s a simple act, but deeply symbolic: growth that continues long after you’ve left.
